Hip Hip Hoorah to Robin Hood's parking meter rescues!
Let it be known that in the course of one year the outlaw Robin Hood has deposited $54 in expired meters, denying approximately $1350 to the crown, and allowing about 270 people to relax and smile.
He also accepted $273 in donations, and spent $248 on expenses.  That means $25 for the Merry Men!   See me for your cut or post here how you would like it spent!

A hearty thanks to all the Fine Outlaws and Benefactors who helped make downtown Keene a happier place.

Did they declare that income on the year's tax form? I sure wouldn't want Robin Hood to skirt the law. Oh, wait...

Here's one I did . . .:

Save your pocket change and stick it

Thanks for the publicity, Ian!

Expenses were coins for meters, envelopes, printer toner, stamps, and hiring the minstrel to follow along singing.

While it is a good and noble thing to starve the government of revenue, parking meters serve a valuable purpose.  A free society, if it wishes to be efficient, would most definitely have them or a similar concept.

Congratulations and thanks, Robin Hood! I hope the $25 goes toward more robbing of the rich and giving to the poor (i.e., preventing the govt from demanding parking fines and allowing the public to park on public property without paying the govt.)

While it is a good and noble thing to starve the government of revenue, parking meters serve a valuable purpose.  A free society, if it wishes to be efficient, would most definitely have them or a similar concept.

The only way a free society can be efficient is to have parking meters? Also, in a free society, would business owners who do not want parking meters be forced to have them?

Poppycock.  If that's true, then show me where parking meters exist in non-government lots.  Private for-pay parking garages don't count - as those likely exist because of poor government city planning and zoning restrictions.  In a true free market business would always lean towards not nickle-and-diming their customers, otherwise they'll go elsewhere.  Pay-parking only makes sense in low-space availability which is more likely in government controlled areas where business isn't able to expand and build as it might prefer absent all the govt restrictions.
