George, re: press release. You say Dodson is on a "hunger strike" but I think it's possible many would think this means not eating anything at all. Should you reword this part for more clarity? The first idea that comes to mind is "One of the ways Dodson is protesting being held captive is by only drinking water and instant milk." (?) I'm not sure, just wondering if that point should be made clearer.

The press release was finally accepted by PRWeb. You can see it here: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2009/05/prweb2381004.htmI paid for all their options so it's going to out to just about everywhere as far as I can tell. PR Newswire was too slow for this one but I hope to get up to speed on this. I had to add the stuff about me and my blog. They called me and asked me to add it in order to clarify the source of the press release, because otherwise it might appear it was coming from Sam or his attorney. @Markus, "hunger strike" is the term Sam uses and my dictionary defines it as "a prolonged refusal to eat, carried out as a protest, typically by a prisoner." so I think it's ok. He is drinking, not eating so the distinction might initially seem sneaky but then Gandhi took juice, so ...

George excellent work. I only get to see FreeKeene when I get home each day about 3:00 pm CST. If you will give me a call, 512-217-0814, I can fill in the blanks for you. Sam is very strong about using his public name and not his given legal name. Big Thanks for all that you have done for Sam and Liberty!!!!!!!!

Hi All!!!
Phew what a great day!
So an update on things here. As you saw on the Qik video, yes Judge Burke has now approved me as Sam's Lawyer.
Sam had told me once they discovered his legal name, that I could file the Power of Attorney in his legal name. As of 29th they discovered his name, so I filed the POA that day. I had gone in to Keene District Court today to check on the status of things, and they told me to wait a minute and I would see the judge. I was brought in to the video conference room area, and had a hearing with Judge Burke. He asked me a few questions mainly about me, and then approved my appearance. Then he reiterated basically what he'd said in his order, that, Sam has to tell them his name and then he can set "appropriate" conditions of bail and release him on Personal Recognizance.
So, once the order was issued, that meant I could go see Sam (I now have complete unfettered access to him). So I went down to Westmoreland and spent a little over two hours going over stuff with him.
He's looking good. He's gotten over the first week of dizzyness and nausea and his energy levels and concentration levels have risen and leveled off again. The doctor and nurse see him twice a week monitoring his health. He should be fine like this for another two weeks or more. Hopefully, he'll be out before then.
The Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus was filed in Supreme Court on Wednesday, so there should be a ruling on that Monday. I will be checking on that then.
Some people have some homework assignments. Call me when those are done.
Others of you, I have put together a more general petition for writ of habeas corpus based on Marc Stevens work. I emailed it to Ian and he should be posting it up on FreeKeene shortly. Download it. Put your name in the "your name" spots. Make sure the dates throughout it are correct (especially at the bottom in the signature line, the certificate of service, and the affidavit). And file them at Superior Court right there in Keene on Monday.

IMPORTANT QUESTION: To where do we mail the writ?
And, do we need to reside in NH in order to file a writ? (I live in NJ, but want to support Sam in any way I can.)

Marc said to have as many as possible in and out of state to file the writ and let the court sort them out. I am going to overnight mine in the morning along with a few of my friends. Here is the address I got from Google: Cheshire Superior Court 12 Court St # 106 Keene, NH 03431 (603) 352-6902

Do we need to fill in a Docket Number? If so, what is the Docket Number?
